For quite some time on Snow Leopard I have been seeing tons of permissions errors with Java every time I run Repair Permissions. Disk Utility says it fixes them but of course if you immediately run another Repair Permissions you get the same messages.
These are not just informational messages but are "Repaired" messages.
Just updated a couple machines from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8 and it reminded me but I have been seeing it in previous versions of 10.6.

1. Stop repairing permissions. It does not accomplish anything of note.
2. They are not errors. Notes about permissions that differ or have been modified and cannot be changed/repaired, etc. are simply that. Notes. NOT ERRORS. All that it means is that permissions are different on those items from their state upon the initial install of the OS. EVERY MAC OS UPDATE CHANGES SOME PERMISSIONS.
They are, indeed, "informational messages."
3. Stop repairing permissions. It's a ridiculous waste of your time and a senseless distraction.

2. Wrong. I know the difference. Every message says "Repaired ..." and changes permissions not just that permissions differ.

The DU started prefacing some lines with "repaired" in 10.6. Those messages are otherwise the same and just as meaningless as the permissions messages in earlier versions of the OS and you should ignore them.
Now stop repairing permissions and go do something meaningful with your life.
Not that catching flies is a great hobby anyway, but i wouldn't start anytime soon. Pickling may be more your style.
