Putting together a blog and copyrighting the content

Do you want to use your own domain name?

Who do you imagine is going to make so much money from your blog content that it would be worthwhile to spend huge amounts of your own money to sue them? It's not like you file an infringement report with the copyright office and they send a couple of detectives over to the infringer's house. You have to file a lawsuit, suffer years of delay, and pay enormous legal expenses that you are very unlikely to recover.

Mr Downtown,

I understand the benefits. I understand the time, agita and expenses involved in the unlikely event of of a lawsuit. The issue here is principle. For that, the agita and expense of registering, neither of which is great from what I saw on copyright.gov, makes it worthwhile. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. I got the answers I needed.

You're going to put up a link here to the blog after it's started, right? I want to see what all the fuss (no offense intended) is about.
