Hardware RAID 1 on a PC - experienced advice sought on the best card to buy
#11
Just get a cheap Rosewill card from Newegg...they actually work very well, especially for RAID1's.

Sorry, it's a long drive to get the machine info and I'll be there on Thursday. As I'm donating my time and dealing with an organization that's overloaded with dumped animals and dwindling contributions, I have to work within the framework they dictate.
The machine is a file server. Several clients running a mix of Windows OS access the files maintained on the machine in question. Sure, If I could dictate, I'd like to update everything to Win 7 and do a nice job, but that's not going to happen.
Thanks for all the advice.

I have several Highpoint cards in use and even the old, heavily used PCI-X cards in PowerMac G5's have been 100% trouble free and work flawlessly.
