I had thought the same, but there really is a Universal version, but it's not in an obvious place. It is mentioned in his discussion forum.

And this is the download link.

I used Grand Perspective for years until I found Space Gremlin. I love the ease it dives down into files. It's well worth the $4 in my opinion: http://www.spacegremlinapp.com/ There's also a free demo.

Don't forget the original disk survey utilities:

The point/benefit of Disc Inventory X is that large files or folders taking up unexpected amounts of space jump out at you visually. Did that happen? Is all the used space accounted for?

Yes, but I also got that in Grand Perspective. It was much easier in Grand Perspective to see what those files were, because pointing to one immediately told me the file name. Trying to do that with more than a couple of files in Disk Inventory X was an exercise in frustration.

What I noticed most was the huge space taken up by Epson printer profiles. Will probably spend some more time with it once I've figured out why the Finder is not recognizing free space on the drive correctly.

I did like that DIX can show the free space along with the used space. However, because something is wrong with the directory, DIX only shows the approximately 4 GB of free space, not the full amount that should show up.

I really do hope you have made sure the Trash is empty before all this. Until it's emptied the free space will not show up even though the folders have gone from their original location.

I'm not currently where the iMac lives, so I can't check if the trash folders are included right now. But wouldn't both of the disk inventory programs show what's in the trash folders for each of the users? Then they would be included in the total space used that these programs report. Both programs show even the hidden files, so I'd be surprised if they skipped what's in the trash folders.
