Very few survivors are still with us to thank.
Take a moment from your busy day and remember those who gave their lives serving the U.S. on that dreadful morning.

Amen. There's something about America's ethos that makes us respond so viscerally to surprise attacks.... 12/7... 9/11...

Very vivid in my mind, time, place, people at home, activity at the time, radio news. My mother calling my Japanese step father at the hospital where he was making his rounds. His family lived in Hawaii near Pearl.

i just hung the stars and stripes from our balcony here in metro nyc.

being a new yorker, september 11, 2001 and dec 7, 1941 are linked in my mind.

on dec 8, 1941, my dad-then 20yrs young-went down to whitehall hall street and enlisted.

70 years is a very long time.

our friends were our enemies.

our enemies are now our friends.

where shall we be in another 70 years?

i hope someone will then hang the flag off their balcony.

i hope its my children.

ymmv

be well
