I'm trying to set up a charging station in the motorhome and I need 2 or 3 six foot cables. I keep seeing that not all cables will work with the iPad 2 and ideally, I'd like them all to charge the iPad as well as the iPhones.
Geez, there's a million out there. Can somebody recommend a reliable cable that hopefully doesn't cost $20?
There's just so many to choose from, i'm hoping for input from actual users.

Is hers an iPad2? I think (not sure) that they have higher power requirements.

Hers is an iPad1. Same power requirements- 10W at 5V. Otherwise known as 2 Amps. No problems.

You're correct that some are not certified for iPad. I can tell you that this one that I spec'd the materials on IS.

Heavier gauge wire, thicker cord are required to get the iPad certification and being that 2.1A is being pushed through tiny little wires, very important.

Why not just get 6 foot USB cables (from monoprice or newegg) and plug in the cables that came with the ipads? How about just using a USB powered hub with a longer cable (some hubs may not power ipads though)?
