U.S. Flags By Annin - Do You Have One, Or Can You Recommend A Good Quality Made U.S. Flag?
#1
I've been flying a 4' x 6' U.S. Flag at my small biz for a number of years and have been paying top dollar for them at the local Ace Hardware. They haven't been all that durable in the weather around these parts (flag flies 24/7 from Spring to Fall). Frays and fading occur after the first year and I end up replacing them often.

That said, I came across an American company (Annin) that has been making flags since 1847. People are raving about them at Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Annin-Tough-Tex-Wo...roduct_top but I would like the opinion of some people here at the MR forums. Some of you folks are pretty darn smart!

Have you tried an Annin flag, or maybe recommend another quality flag that might just last more than a year or two?

Opinions please, and thanks for your input.

That's a good price for for a 6 X 4 flag. It seems to be well constructed,

As you mentioned, the comments are very good!

I'd certainly try one at that price.

You might want to try a company not too far from you in Northport: Spartan Flag http://www.known.com/spartanflag/

6x4 Stars & Stripes for $35. They claim a lot of their flags are flying full-time, year-round in Leelanau County and holding up well.

I checked their site. Did you know about the warning they have posted on their "Order" page?

"Please, do NOT call/email to complain about the colors or the pattern.
As should be obvious, our flags only come in the standard red/white/blue color scheme.
And yes, we KNOW that the design is off-balance. It's supposed to be, as one
customer put it, "awfully busy in the upper left".
We will NOT be accepting returns for either of these reasons.

Helping fly a US and a Christian flag at a church in Houston TX. About a 20 ft flag pole. Asked at a flag store and they suggested 4x6 flags. The flags are the polyester long lasting type flying 24/7. At least some were made by Annin. All the flags seem to last approx a year.

One difference. Started out with 4x6. Someone else replaced with 3x5. frankly I can't tell the difference. If you have that option, try it.

thanks for the Amazon source--that will certainly save money.

digby, was that the Annin website, or the one berger recommended? I couldn't find that statement on either site.

MarkD, we started out with a 3' x 5', but the larger, 4' x 6' one seemed to look better. We could definitely tell a difference! YMMV
