I wonder exactly which Chinese factory stole the specs for the late 2012 Japanese design, and is rebranding and selling them via the 'grey market' of ebay only ?
I would carefully presume that they are supportless and warrantyless. Caution is advised.

from reviews, the display looks much better than 1/2 the quality...

I read the review you posted - they recommend it even though it clearly has a bluish tint, had a dead pixel and is as wobbly as a bobble head. If it has real support and warranty, it might be worth it... but as is, it's certainly a gamble.

Got my Yamakasi Catleap Multi with perfect pixel from Green-Sum on Thursday. I payed with PayPal on Monday. The contact was very nice and I got always a quick reply on my questions I asked green-sum before I ordered to do some addtional packaging material around my parcel. They said they did. The monitor arrived without that material. Maybe... the German duty officers opened it I had to pay an additional amount of 86,06 € at my door to the DHL-employee. In German its called "Einfuhrumsatzsteuer" Now to the monitor itself. It's fantastic. I couldn't find any dead pixels. The picture is just awesome. At the moment I have nothing to complain at the Yamakasi Catleap on my 5770 via Dual DVI. This week ill try to connect it with my Laptop with the 5470 via HDMI. I worked a few hours on it (GIMP, Scribus, Oxygen) and yes played a few ours (D3 and WOT). Even there is nothing to complain with. 2 times I imagined a tiny horizontal line for the split of a second, but maybe I'm wrong and just saw through a milstone. I'll observe that. I checked Green-sum's feedback - over 99%, but he sells much more than just this monitor. There are 19 negs and 42 neutral in the last 12mo.
Seems that inspection before shipping is an extra service... This was posted yesterday: AAAAAPaid for perfect pixel, 8 pixel defect. No refund/exchange. I've been cheated AAAAANew YAMAKASI CATLEAP Q270 27" 2560X1440 Monitor + Tempered glassr *Perfect Pixel (#120888970075) another says, "No English Manuel, Not Australian cable head had to buy adapter." on a different monitor: FRAUD! LOST HUNDREDS OF $'S RETURNING ITEMS! NO HELP FROM SELLER! AVOID! Most that are selling this thing are in So Korea as is green-sum - two currently in the US. This seems awfully risky to me... edit: oh... and you have to wonder how the HUGE box left Korea on monday (assuming that it shipped the moment the payment was made) and arrived in Germany, passed customs and was delivered on Thursday... could that forum entry be a plant? also, I noticed that this Korean seller ships to the entire world - except Korea... hmmmmm...

I almost posted a link to that Overclock forum post two weeks ago. I would be more tempted to buy the 30", but they do not make a LED backlit one.
