I bought a Nook Color that is rooted with cm7 and I like it quite a bit. It was only $50 which is why I jumped at it but it certainly satisfies my tablet needs. That old version of Android certainly leaves much to be desired but with a Nexus 7 at $200 it's tempting considering the alternative. Maybe I've been too hard on Android.

$50? That's a good price. I bought one refurbished for $119 a while back and felt pretty good at the time. Got a Nook Tablet (the 16GB, 1GB RAM Model) six months ago for $175ish and though that was a good price. Times change, eh.

I do wish the Nexus tablet has a MicroSD slot. I've really come to like the option on my Nooks.

8GB or 16GB isn't bad. Would be a complete non issue with a microSD slot of course; alas, we are back to my original point. Wasn't there supposed to be a 32GB model as well?

Cellular data might be nice. Then again, I already have two mobile plans (data from my mobile carrier which can act as a hotspot with the right devices and a hotspot plan with Clear). I really need another?

In all honesty, a rear facing camera means nothing to me. I'm really supposed to take photos with a 7" tablet*? Seems excessive and a bit silly. If that was my only camera, then maybe.

At that price point, the Nexus tablet is pretty compelling. I actually like the 7" tablet size.

*"New" (to me) phone is a Nokia N8. Great camera.
