Strange behavior, MBP 3,1, shuts down...

... sleep indicator light flashes in pattern of three. On startup it indicates bad ram according to Apple. Could this indicate things go bad when it warms up? I haven't tried reseating, 2 chips, 4 MB AND 1MB.

Try reseating.

Then try with just the 4GB in the lower slot.

Then try with just the 4GB in the upper slot.

(Sometimes it's not the RAM, but the RAM slot that goes bad.)
