Walmart v. the District of Columbia
#21
This is not a new concept, so there's history. Pretty much every living wage law in existence will have a clause about collective bargaining agreements.
Max, find one example of a city with a living wage standard where even ONE union has negotiated for themselves a wage lower than that stated for their type of work in the living wage law in effect, AFTER that law went into effect.
just one example, I'd honestly be interested to see it

Lemon, you trying to teach politics of collective bargaining to a former Teamsters negotiator,
Of course they will negotiate lower wages, if that is their market reality, $12.50 is a political sop for useful tools....

That makes no sense. It's not your "market reality" if there is a minimum wage law to support a higher wage. That's your minimum starting point for negotiating, not lower.
Again, please provide ONE single example of any union that ever took a lower wage than the existing municipal minimum.

Your arguing your own strawman.
The market reality is the municipal minimum, reportedly, $8.25.
Your fantasy minimum is the political, and meaningless sop, $12.50....

However if you want discusss the subject of this thread, you can try again.
The subject was Washington DC and its anti Walmart public hypocrisy.....

No sweetheart, my point was made by the the articles cited, the minimum union wage in DC is till $8.50, not a fantasy number of $12.50, you can argue your strawman with yourself, backslapping both......
