Need Scanner software for Epson 1200, had it on bad HD
#1
I need to scan a couple of documents, but just realized the app was on my old HD, which I have not repaired or had time to address.

I think it might have been called Epson Scan or something, and I had it installed at the bottom of the desktop and there was a pic of a small scanner open.

Thanks, for recommendation or confirming the name Epson Scan, which I will now search Google.

Got it, Epson Scan.... now lets see if it works as well as it did on the G4/400

Doesnt seem to recognize Scanner... will see if there are other drivers

I guess this 10.7.5 mac needs Rosetta to run the software, but will try Image Capture as suggested, a built in Apple App

There's always VueScan. FWIW my Epson 1260 worked under Leon, once the Epson update had been installed. I think i had to have the scanner attached and poweredon before the App Store would get the update. But I can't recall the specifics, just that it was more of a pain than it should have been to install that Epson update for L or ML.

Image Capture works, but these PDFs are huge, even black and white over 4 mess.

Need something smaller, or look for settings in image capture, then Vuescan if cant figure

Lowered DOTS PER INCH.... what a no brainer, but will look for VUESCAN latter

Have you tried connecting it, adding it in Sys Pref/Printers and then using Software Update? SU keeps my Macs able to use our AIOs.

Image capture, an app in your Application folder does scanning.

Vuescan will also work.

Nothing other than the original s/w will give you all of the options your printer has.

I still use a 1200 U Photo on a PPC G5 under 10.5.8. Works fine using Epson's software. I think its PPC code only though, not UniBin.
