Powerbook Power adapter: "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
#1
There's no bees in the thing but it's developed a constant buzz. I looked it up and found a lot of MB owners with similar issues, but mine's a PBG4 that just went out of warranty.

It still charges but I am worried that it is failing. Should I take it to an apple store? Will they do anything? It's out of warranty.

Also it gets incredibly hot. Almost too hot to touch. I remember it used to get warm, but I don't remember it getting this hot. It runs about 140 F, just on the surface! That's about Medium Rare temperature...

What do I do? Wait for the thing to explode? Maybe amex will cover it under their extended warranty...

You can either complain to Apple about it becoming dangerously hot, or just wait for the next voluntary recall / class-action lawsuit to get it replaced for free.

A trip to the Apple store wouldn't hurt. If they will not replace it, check eBay for 3rd party adapters that are compatible for about 1/2 the price of Apple's.

Please, if it is getting that hot, don't use it.
It might start a fire.

Its the power supply, right? I'd stop using it right away. Its obviously defective. Its only a matter of time before it gives up all together.
