#1

The Monster arrived Tuesday morning, with help from the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, and sits in the water between the Great Lakes Science Center and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, where it will remain for the next several weeks. The inflatable creature measures 25 feet long, 15 feet wide and 18 feet tall, and joins other popular lakefront entities such as FirstEnergy Stadium, Burke Lakefront Airport, the U.S.S Cod Museum and the Goodtime III.

Lake Erie Monsters fans are encouraged to submit photos of themselves in front of the new lakefront Monster via the team’s Facebook (/LakeErieMonsters) and Twitter (@monstershockey) pages. Every fan that tags the Lake Erie Monsters in their photo, along with #LakeMonster, on either of the two social networks will receive two free tickets to a November home game!*

*one submission per person, tickets based on availability

Cute. We went to Saturday's games against the Rockford IceHogs. Whose theme song was... the song from The Rockford Files. The over 50 crowd LOL'ed at that. The kids just sort of looked around not getting it.

My son's school choir ( my son singing Bass) did the National Anthem. They did a good job, and at least this year nobody got in a fight (last year there was a dust up between two girls, and one girl ended up expelled). And the Monsters won the game !

Farm team hockey is a fun game... the precision may not be there, but the kids have a lot of heart and passion for the game.

Is that the same league as the Erie Otters?

No, the Monsters are AHL pro league - think AAA baseball - the very highest before the big leagues. Pretty sure the Eire Otters are a canadian junior team - under 20 amateurs being developed for the pros.
