Thank god there was no FDA 10,000 or so years ago when sugar (in the form of honey) was first used as food.

I'm not sure that I believe that this is common. For one thing, there are the damning telltale signs- the dark crumbs in the moustache, the snotty white crusts in the nostrils, the scattered cellophane wrappers in the sink... and it is a lousy gateway drug; have you ever tried to jam an Oreo into a syringe?
Much better, and a much better deal, is the creamy center of a Twinkie. It can takes days to mainline a Twinkie, for beginners. For the more adventurous, there is always the Sno-ball Suppository Surprise.

I've got a sweet tooth, but Oreos are probably the one cookie I dislike.

A close second! I could eat Thin Mints by the SLEEVE. Therefore, I don't bring them into the house.

And, there's this...

Sitting here, eating Oreo Double Stuffs as I read the thread.

It's not an addiction. I can quit anytime I want. The two extra packages in the cupboard are there only because of a sale, not because of any need.

I raise my glass of cold, whole milk.
