Newegg infringed patent?!?!

I still think the jury is clueless.

Probably.

"Jury of peers" is not literal so assuming most/all jurists have innate expertise in what for many is alchemy is foolish, at best.

It's up to counsel to make them understand. Even then, you can't always account to individual biases that may exist.

Newegg rested before presenting another expert witness. That might have been a mistake.

But let's blame the jury.

East Texas has made a tidy legal business for itself by (almost) always finding for the plaintiffs.

Newegg should appeal.

"It is not "East Texas" or lack of a robust skull structure. It is one tiny town which makes money off of this. All the judges and lawyers do nothing but rake in cash from bs like this. The defense attorneys not only know the presiding judges, they are related. The jurors are all related or friends. All of them are part of a real actual conspiracy to transfer wealth from the rest of America to their corrupt little jurisdiction.

This is de facto corruption of the highest order..."

I would like to believe this is not true, but I struggle to deny it, given the circumstantial evidence.

Our citizens just suck up to the rich and powerful these days. It just feels right.

Newegg isn't exactly small either. I think people just don't understand patents, copyrights, trademarks, and how technology in general works. It is a shame.

They can understand it and still feel compelled to support the powerful. I'm being general but that's how it is now. They also know how to make sure people that feel otherwise don't end up on juries.

It's not their job to understand this in daily life, at least for people not in the business. It *is* the job of lawyers to make them understand.

It is a shame.

I disagree. It is a shame that somebody might get on a jury who isn't capable of understanding concepts when properly explained.

Yes you are, and I still disagree.

That's true for both sides of the aisle.

Yes you're right. There's a nice balance between the rich/powerful and everyone else. You don't believe this.
