No mail here either. I also have a Amazon -> UPS SurePost delivery that is sitting at the regular post office. I guess I should have gone to pick it up, but the roads here are all fine and I saw some post office trucks about.
I have another order from Amazon that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. It is still listed as "Shipping Now" but there is no tracking number. It replaces an item that either got delivered to the wrong address or was swiped off my porch on Monday. It originated in Atlanta, so I assume the UPS hub is not up to speed yet (though I did see our regular driver out today - he was off on Monday when my package was supposedly delivered).

Update. I GOT MAIL TODAY!
And, the driver actually put it on the front porch. I think he/she, I didn't see who delivered it, put it in front of the door because the box my GIANT ALUMINUM KITTY LITTER SCOOP from Amazon was in was too large to fit in the mail box.
So, I got my Amazon delivery and the rest of the mail, mostly junk, this afternoon.
I was sort of surprised, since the street just out front of our house was still pretty icy, especially in the shady areas.
Did not get a newspaper today, but maybe tomorrow. Might be a little late, since all the stuff still there will refreeze tonight.

Well, the newspaper for today and yesterday came around in the late afternoon. No mail. No UPS, although we have a couple of packages in their facility 10 miles away.
We had no problem driving up/down our road and into town in the afternoon but in the morning the road was not passable. I wonder if UPS and USPS make an all-day decision early in the morning. Surely tomorrow for the mail and UPS...

Good news!

I would imagine so, especially for the USPS.
Having the employees start later under less inclement conditions means means ending later. That probably means paying overtime and having carriers work in the dark. (Yeah, I know… gloom of night and all.) I doubt they are willing to pay a nickel in overtime if they can possibly help it.
And I doubt most want to walk around in the dark and wet, or icy. I've seen it before (dark, no rain or ice) and some carriers don't have flashlights unless they buy 'em themselves. I'd call that safety equipment and in most jobs, that's provided by the employer.

rgC,
The local USPS Annex - the location that handles mail delivery to my company - changed the routes in our area about three months ago. Now, if my office gets mail, we're lucky if it's delivered before 5:00 pm. Just this week, we didn't get any mail at all on Monday, yet, a package from amazon.com was listed as delivered on Monday at X:XX pm. And, it wasn't waiting for me on Tuesday morning. On Tuesday, we got enough mail to fill an official USPS mail basket. It look like nearly a weeks worth of mail. Then nothing until today.
