They're so beautiful! I got to photograph two different kinds of night-blooming cereus, both times holding a small camera in one hand and a flashlight in the other.

While I was out about midnight photographing this one, a sphinx moth the size of a hummingbird, totally drunk on a fragrance so sweet you could taste it, kept yawing around, running into me every few minutes, lying on the deck to recover, then buzzing in ecstatic spirals, searching for the promised paradise.
