we watched it last night (we're always a few years behind the current films.).
solid performances, beautiful photography and fabulous soundtrack.
but …….. WTF?
why all the accolades? beyond us farm folk.

with endless flicks like this, no wonder there are so many kaboom flicks and cop shows.

According to Ebert's review, not just filmed but filmed in 65mm, not done since Hamlet in '96. I read Fuji left that biz, leaving only Kodak. Must have been the director's or producer's labor of love.
