Rather than go into details: Don't you dare do business with Overstock.com
#1
I have just spent three days chatting with customer support at Overstock.com. They have failed to locate the item ordered (at all -disappeared, poof) and have issued a continuing series of lies and promises concerning the matter.
Please avoid doing business with them at all costs (because the costs will be entirely yours).

I can supply you with extended pieces of the chat threads, but I don't want to put you to sleep. They are incapable of telling the truth or satisfactorily resolving a simple matter. Amazon would have had the item on my doorstep days ago. I ordered it on May 29th and it might as well have been shipped on Malaysian Airlines.

I have ordered from them numerous times. Without any issues. Sorry you had a problem with them.

I stand by my recommendation. They tried to lie and weasel at an exalted level. (And I used to write ad copy...they were amateurs, but earnest.) Don't do business with them. Try looking them up on Yelp.

Sorry for your frustration.

Thanks for posting.

Bottom line: you cannot assume any customer support. So the deal has to be that much better to be worthwhile.

No kidding. Words to the wise, never rely on support, from anyone. If it occurs, then great, but I've been disappointed so many times.

I've ordered from this vendor, but it was years ago last time I did.

I know the frustration of dealing with incompetents (and incompetence). But I can only say that the times I've dealt with their customer support, they have gone out of their way to accommodate, and I could not have asked for a more favorable outcome.
