Anyone Here Using SimpliSafe or Similar DIY Security Systems?

Thanks for your usual thorough response, Robert. I'll have to look into the other DIY systems before proceeding.

SimpliSafe claims that you won't need any handholding, but claims are cheap.

They do offer central-station monitoring, which they say does not require a contract, and can be terminated at any time. I like that.

Not sure how this relates to the protection offered by a burglar alarm system with or without central station monitoring. Homeowner's insurance may or may not help after a burglary but it certainly won't prevent one.
