For what turned out to be a false Man Overboard, a fishing marker or life jacket/ring from a fishing boat.

My Brother is on a 10 day Autumn Leaves Tour, NY to Quebec City. I'll bet they were on one of those ships.

I came over here on the original Queen Mary. (Yes, I am that old.)
I'm not sure how much of what I remember was true, and how much was embellished by my Parents, as a reminder that I always had been a Naughty Boy.

Back when ships were fast and beautiful, not the top heavy, bulk carriers of today.

I recall being aboard the Queen Elizabeth as a child. I always wished I could have seen the United States in her day, racing like the greyhound of the sea. To have seen the engineering beauties of the French liners Normandie, and Ile de France would have been a treat.

Even the smaller liners like America and the ill-fated the Andrea Doria were elegant.
