Once more, the best migration method?

Got the iMac I posted about a couple weeks ago and need to load it up. I was going to use Migration Assistant and connect to my up-to-date Time Machine. New machine has 10.9.4 and was told it was nuked and paved. Should I run nuke and pave again before I connect? Any other thoughts?
Last time I did this I transferred data from my MBP HD thru MA to the new SSD that I installed in the MBP and that worked fine. I haven't used MA, tho, with Time Machine.

I wouldn't trust a used Mac without a SMART check, Apple Hardware Test and a nuke-and-pave.

In order to validate the install of the new OS, you'll need an Apple ID that has been used to download Mavericks if you do it from the Recovery volume. (One reason why making a stand-alone installer disk is a good idea.)

Using the Migration Assistant to pull your data from the backup should be pretty self-explanatory. If your backup is on a Time Capsule or other network device, be prepared for it to run for a very long long looooong time.
