Stock Share Price Error
#1
I almost had a heart attack this morning. One of the cheap stocks in my portfolio had, what I presume to be, a pricing error on the share price this morning. I might be a millionaire though. I'll take you all for rides in my helicopter/Ferrari tomorrow if the price isn't corrected. On a related note, has anyone else encountered something similar? What happens if I manage to get someone to purchase a single share of my stock at the listed price, then they realize that it is an error. Am I obligated to void the sale? Does the broker bear the burden?

If it was a pricing error by your broker, then no one would be buying the stock at that price. If it was a pricing error by the market, then it should be caught pretty soon and any sales that would have gone through at the incorrect price would be reversed.

You probably saw an error in web coding and doesn't have anything to do with the actual price.

Possibly, but multiple sites showed the same error. It doesn't really matter anyway. It's already been corrected and I'm poor again.

Yup... I have seen something similar.. a "penny stock" I owned for years (mostly because the trade fee to dump it was 50 times the stock price...) suddenly went from .01 a share to 100.00 a share.. and me with 52,000 shares!
It was corrected within a couple hours... but there was just enough "real" bump in the stock price for me to dump it, and only lose half the trade fee... (and my original $200 investment, but I'd written that off long, LONG ago...)/
