Anyway to insert chapter marks into an MP3 ?
#1
Is there anyway to insert chapter marks into almost 2hr long voice type .mp3? I
want something like a chapter mark every 10-15 minutes. I have iTunes, QTpro and
Toast 7. I have some old voice recordings that have been transfered to mp3 and
would like to have them chapter marked so when I'm listening to them in my car, on a CD,
I can take them out and not have to fast-forward for 1hr to get to a point.
Thanks

convert it to a QT file and you can insert chapter marks.

1. Convert to a format that supports chapter marks. Like AAC.
2. Break up the file into smaller separate MP3 files using something like MP3Trimmer. Retitle each smaller file "chapter x".

Xmp3split 1.0
Drop an mp3 file on this application, and it will be split into multiple parts. Save battery life on your iPod by splitting mp3's longer than 20 minutes. Based on mp3splt command line tool. Very fast since mp3 files are not decoded when splitting.

you can set the time to split at, e.g. 5 minute intervals. works well & is fast & free.
