Thanks Ken Sp! (WAS: Pismo w/ new HD: No S/U Chime?)

I've been so busy lately that by the time I get back to a thread, it's three pages deep. So this is a repost so that I can thank Ken Sp. for his help and the thanks won't be buried in the basement.

I had written:

I changed the HD in my Pismo to a 100 GB drive.

It boots and runs great. But I've noticed two differences.

1. No startup chime.
2. Initially, I get the ?-mark folder for a second... then it boots.

Do I have something messed up?

Ken Sp. replied:

1. Do you have mute on?

2. Did you select the new drive as Startup in Sys Preferences.

For either you might try Zapping the PRAM also Hold Apple-Option-P-R keys

It was #2. Especially since this disk has Sys 9 on it, too. Thanks!
