A friend of mine had an ex-work mate secretly record a conversation they had and then post it to YT. Has anyone here ever tried to have content removed from YT? What are the relevant parts of the process?

I would expect YT to pull any video that they received a rights ownership complaint about. Just so much safer to pull it first, if only to cover their a$$. Then, the original poster would have to prove that they did indeed have the necessary permission(s).

I've found it very easy to get infringing content removed from YouTube. I've always filled out the form: https://www.youtube.com/copyright_complaint_form
However, in this case, a privacy complaint may be more appropriate: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/142443 Best of luck to your friend, Sarah

Yes, DMCA should not apply, but possible violation of privacy laws (wiretapping is what you should look into with the state).
