programing contacts on samsung sgh-d357 cellphone

Anyone know if its possible and how to do the following. When adding contacts to the phone I want to have it display an icon for a cellphone, home number, business etc like my razr does. Trying to help my mom. I have the manual but cant find anything - at least a hint?
