Audio gear has always been a genre of objet d'art.
I really wish I'd taken better care of my hearing. My tinnitus is so bad that I probably can't appreciate 1/10 of the products in that clip, and even that may be optimistic.
Had I taken better care, that 1/10 might jump up to 1/5.
Still, I wouldn't mind having some of that exquisitely executed hardware just to look at, and pretend I can hear the magic subtleties promised.
Some of those high-resolution portable players are freakishly beautiful.
One of those Woo Audio tube amps and my pedestrian Shure 530s would make me very happy.
I'd like to try some electrostatics again (never owned any) to see if I could appreciate the sound, still.
