It's simply not presidential for the leader of the free world to speak sarcastically. Or without considering the words being used and their impact on all potential listeners... "Oh Russia I didn't mean for you to ACTUALLY invade Ukraine when I said 'You wouldn't dare... look at my strong hands!'". "I didn't think our trade partners would be offended when I said our products were so much obviously better than theirs!" "I was being sarcastic when I said I wanted to torture and kill everyone in two generations on either side of a terrorist!" "Can't these americans take a joke?!"

Presidents. Just. Cannot. Act. That. Way.

Pretzel-gate aside I never thought in my lifetime we'd see another candidate that made me MISS Dubya.

The worst part is he's setting things up so that when his inevitable loss comes he doesn't even have to accept it... "Media bias! Voter fraud! It was rigged! You gun people should take to the streets and reclaim your country the way the Founding Fathers intended!"

I don't doubt the FBI, military, and national security will be on high alert this November... even if Trump only gets 1/3 of the vote, something like a civil war could break out. And even if not, this new indecorous rancor in politics is here to stay with the horrible precedents this man has set.

Reagan did not make a gaffe. He knew he was not on the air. Even if I never liked him, the man was a broadcast pro and knew the difference between a mike test and being on air.

Trump, on the other hand, doesn't do much reality-testing at all.

Way to stay in each and every news cycle.

This is exactly it.

Wherever he may have started, he ultimately became an entertainment figure and focused on rating numbers. He is still that and will probably have neither the grasp of the difference nor the time needed to do a refocus.

My vantage point from afar leads me to think he has no idea of the depth of the pool he's waded into nor what to do with what he's created.
