I just put an MX300 in my 2011 MacBook Pro. FIrst impression is that it runs cooler than the drive it replaced, which can only be a good thing in that model MBP.

I'm waiting until BF. I need a SSD, and a big drive or two. What's the sweet spot on big drives cost/size?

Do you want dirt-cheap big externals, or an internal big drive? 6TB Toshibas seem to be pretty good bang for the buck.

I'm hoping for 1TB Samsung in the $200 range. If OWC can get theirs under $250, I'd probably buy that.

Big external. I have cases, and a dock, so I could go bare also. Just not a massive Seagate. Not willing to risk it.

Toshibas where, Newegg?

Or B & H. New Egg recently had a deal on the Toshibas so maybe won't have another for a while.
