Some of the rest of you may enjoy this, too, if you're old enough (I am). A walk down the political memory lane. https://youtu.be/h5yd3Nqp19s

Intelligent political humor.

Sahl was seminal (doncha hate that word). He didn't transform satirical political comedy but he did sustain it. His popularity growth was hampered by his education, usage of language, refusal to play down to the audience and limited exposure.

Back then he was never wildly popular but did have a following and today might have a cable show of his own ala Bill Maher, John Oliver, Samantha Bee or even Keith Olbermann (Sahl also had a hard time keeping gigs).

Thanks for that blast from the past $.:oldfogey:

PS: after your post, I Duck Ducked him and apparently, after hooking up with Woody Allen and later Robin Williams he revived his stand-up act is still doing once a week shows in the Bay area. Given we're both still chuggin' along, next time I get up there I'll take it in.
