Mail.app/Address Book auto completion ordering
#1
I'm converting from Claris Emailer to Mail.app, and running into an annoyance that I hope there is some easy solution for.

When sending to someone in the address book that has multiple email addresses, I can't seem to figure out how Mail.app decides which one to list first, and then selects if you just hit tab when typing addresses. It seems that each time it picks a different ordering (in this case the person has 4 addresses, home, work, and two others).

I would like to be able to somehow mark an address as the primary email address for a person with multiple addresses so that the auto completion will always pick it first.

Am I missing something easy? I couldn't find anything about it in the Mail or Address Book help files.

Thanks

I don't know how to set up the order but the arrow keys will let you navigate your list and then just hit enter when you are at the right one.

No, I think there is a way, but I'll need to discover it again. The app also appears to learn; if I have a few addresses for someone and I'm constantly switching to, say, the second one on the list, after about the fifth message it seems to "know" to use the second one as the primary. I could be dreaming this.

Claris Em@iler, eh? Wow, that's *really* old school. I loved Claris Em@iler; it was my mail program for years but, when things started shuttering at Claris, I saw the writing on the wall and bailed years back (and before my switch to 10.0.0 as I recall).

Thanks for the comments, I was guessing that it might be "learning" on it's own becuase I was getting different results each time, but I just need to figure out how to get it to learn the correct choices.
