I think Apple has maxed out it's product line , phones, computers, pads. In order to grow they need to come up with the "Next Big Thing". The watch is a bust, perhaps a TV, car or something, but they need something

Oh, and just one more thing, the iBlender!

I agree with Larry on the points about keeping up with the MacPro hardware. I used a 2013 MacPro (6x3.33) for a year at another job and it was really nice (with dual 27" thunderbolt displays), but I think everyone expected Apple to update the specs in that same form factor EVENTUALLY. We are still waiting. Meanwhile people and 3rd party companies are finding ways to keep upgrading the older MP towers.
Heck, if Apple could just re-release the last cheese grater tower with current CPU options, and a new motherboard including some TB3/USB-C ports (and some older ones too please) they would have instant sales.

Type A ports mean squat in a wireless world... people want one for each drive they are going to get in the next four years. That's silly, given the amazing professional drive options provided by OWC among others.
SD cards? usb printers? pft...
Getting with the program should be instigated to those hanging to the old equipment instead.

Also, that huge return came over 30 years.

9600%+ over 19 years actually.

Not saying that I didn't leave money on the table after today's rise but I don't worry at all about day to day fluctuations. If I invested according to how a stock does on one day I would have dropped AAPL back in the early 2000s when it fell almost 50% in one day. I actually know two people who sold all of their AAPL in response to that. Ugh.

Supposedly, there will be Trump's tax break which would be great but other companies will catch the same break. Also, it's a one time shot in the arm.

New HW? Ok, cool but the amount of teeth gnashing on here says to me that the old core users are very unhappy with the OS. And, I had bought in originally because of Jobs' return with the new OS.

So, I moved on...diversified a lot...made some...lost some. Life goes on.

Yes, they are.

As for me, I've learned to not fight the power.

Well, it looks like China is making it more difficult for multinationals to move money out of the country. It used to be easy to move up to $50 million out at a time, now, the cut off is around $5 million.

According to the WSJ, Apple has about $7 billion in assets in China. Can see how many transfers will need to be made and each one "scrutinized".
