More fun with Robots

"At just over 2 feet tall, the roughly 80-pound Gita — Italian for a short trip — rolls around like the Star Wars bot sans the bleeps and bloops. It tops out at 22 mph, fast enough to keep up with a bike, but is currently limited to 11 mph, and can carry up to 40 pounds.
Packed with cameras and sensors, the Gita can roll after an owner, following along down the sidewalk. But once it has gone down the same route enough times, the Gita will learn to find its own way, making deliveries from a store, rolling home with groceries, lugging around heavy equipment for a repairman or even walking a dog."

I like the idea. After each of my back surgeries it was impossible to do even simple things like get the mail. I can see this type of robot being very useful as they expand what it can do. The idea of a robot walking the dog was pretty funny but again it would have been great for my dog (if she would cooperate) while I was recovering from surgery.
