Can you blow the speaker in an iPhone ?
#1
I'm rebuilding an iPhone 6s plus (traded a 6 for it). The screen replacement went okay (it was shattered, sha-doo-bee). But the speaker at the bottom of the phone sounds.. nasty. Like it's full of sand or just weirdly blown.

Can those speakers 'blow out' ?

Aren't blowouts kinda 1980's, anyway?

I've had an iPhone with the top speaker damaged/blown (the one that is by your ear when you hold it like a phone). The bottom speakers can probably get wet/damaged/etc too. This made phone calls difficult until I figured out that I had to use speaker phone to hear anyone.

Water damage to the speakers seems more likely than being "blown out". Or, the fall which broke the screen could have damaged the speaker connections, so they aren't working properly.

See if you can re-seat the speaker connector.

Good luck.

Doubtful that the internal amplification could exceed the rated wattage of the speaker.
