Thanks for the tip, 3d. We've never used a crockpot, but Number Two Son and family (5 kids!) are staying with us for a few months, and DIL Raina likes to use one. So this will make a nice surprise when they get back from visiting her family for Thanksgiving.

Got the 6qt IP from Target two weeks ago on a weekend deal for 25% off - $75.
Looked at the 8qt but 6qt is plenty big enough for just the two of us.

In for one. With my AE points, I got it for $9.

Oops! Didn't realize this is a pressure cooker. We just wanted a crock pot, i.e. slow cooker, not a pressure cooker. Just arrived today, so now I've got to return this thing.
And it looks like Amazon has started charging Prime customers for UPS returns. It's only free if I drive into Boston to their own dropoff site. Prime is starting to look less attractive. . .

It's both, although the temperature settings on the Instant Pot aren't exactly equivalent to the standard slow cooker (for example, Medium on the Instant Pot is more along the lines of Low on a slow cooker).
Understood, but way more than we wanted (would never use the pressure-cooking function), so I returned it today. Wife bought a Crock-Pot® slow cooker for $35 at Walmart.
