Thinking about MLK
#1
Listening to him on the radio and TV back in the 60s really changed my life. People here ask if we'll ever recover from this present administration. I think of one of his quotes:

“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”

The de-evolution from the political and philosophical discourse of intelligent people like MLK (and President Obama) to the middle-school recess taunts of our current child-in-chief is heartbreaking. Political speech should elevate and inform us.

Beautiful quote, thank you.

I think this one is very well-suited to today too:
"We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now."

And from ESPN reporter Jemele Hill:

"Shout-out to all the people who criticized Colin Kaepernick’s nonviolent protest against injustice but will be posting Martin Luther King Jr., quotes all day today on social media."

the rough places will be made plains, and the crooked places will be made straight…"
