I spilled coffee into an old toilet-seat iBook, and spent an hour or so putting little pieces of paper towels between the keyboard to soak out as much as I could. Then I let it sit and dry for SEVERAL days.

With the exception of one keyboard key, I got it working again.

I'll also add to the list of people this has happened to and was able to recover from.

My boss spilled an entire glass of water in her Toilet Seat iBook. It immediately died and she said it made a sparking noise. I didn't think there was mch hope but I removed the battery turned it upside down so the water could drain out and let it sit for two weeks.

After two weeks, lo and behold it started up and has been working since then, good as new.
