refurbed ups today, ouch batteries are expensive!

I replaced the batteries in my apc 1400 tonight at a cost of $100. Ouch! Lot of money for a ups. I looked online and a refurb unit would have been $200 and a new one starts at $280 plus shipping. So I did ok, but wow, still spendy!

According to Gruber and Ebay, you could have done it for $50-75, shipped.

Where did you buy them? I know that someone around here had a cheap source.

Got them at the local battery store and installed tonight. Maybe I paid a bit more than ebay but I'd rather buy batteries local anyway.
