Is it possible to identify files in use?
#11
I am using a font manager, but I shut it down, which should deactivate all but the system fonts. I also checked the open fonts' file paths (which was very tedious). They are all where they should be.

This problem is specific to this one drive (my main boot drive). I can boot from a different drive and run DW just fine. However, I would like to know what the heck this drive (my main boot volume) thinks is open on the drive in question.

I wondered about Spotlight. I just tried to add the drive to the "privacy" do-not-index list, but it didn't stick…

That may point to something.

In lieu of Conflict Catcher (and depending on just how badly you want to get to the bottom of this), have you tried Diablotin?

Geez, this is so annoying. I can clone the stinkin' drive with the open file(s) to a FW drive, and there is no problem running Disk Warrior on it. I clone it back onto the freshly erased internal drive and it's the same old crap. What the fsck is open???????

When I cloned it, I had it skip the Spotlight file. (.Spotlight-V100). I wonder if that's the active file now.
