Wikipedia shows he did Apocalypse Now (1979), Up from the Depths (1979), and Purple Hearts (1984). He became a very busy guy after FMJ.
Wiki also says he gave 'one of the rare performances Stanley Kubrick ever allowed to be improvised'. It also mentions his role as technical advisor who became the DI.
I remember him in a few TV roles, and of course FMJ. I didn't know he was in Boys. I may have that in the Drobo. He was uncredited in Apocalypse.

He was actually a staff sergeant in the USMC. His gunny rank was honorary after he made it big. he joined up after a judge gave him the choice of enlisting or going to jail when he was 17. He made the right choice.

Solid guy, IMO. Loved his DI act in the movies. I suspect in real life, he made a few soldiers poo their pants.

The Commandant of the Marine Corps gave him the honorary promotion to gunnery sergeant in 2002. Given his career he might have made that rank if he had not been medically discharged due to injuries.

He played a detective in a Miami Vice episode too. Wore a suit, which looks odd on him in retrospect.
And I swear to god he and Jesse Ventura were "Men in Black" in an X Files episode. Couldn't find a credit for that though.
