In InDesign CS2 when you control click on a misspelled word, it pops up a menu with corrections and options to add to dictionary etc. Most of my document is set up that way. However, there is a section that INSISTS on using the Hungarian dictionary. WTF! I closed the doc and chose the USA dictionary. Opened it up and it still wants to use the Hungarian one. Only for the contextual spellcheck and only for a certain part of my document.

Did you check your styles?

nope. I wouldn't have thought to check the styles. I just reimported the raw text file again. That fixed it.

The language dictionary can be specified in ID's style sheets, so that's always a possible culprit.
I've done quite a bit of page layout in foreign langauges for one client, and I routinely go through the styles to reset the language dictionary (Paragraph Styles/Advanced character formats).
