backing up user/library

I have a dualie G5. X.4.3
I'm making a burn folder.

I'm trying to burn a CDRW with elements of the user/library on it.
app support, keychain, prefs, Safari
When I try, I get an error-43.

the operation cannot be completed because one or more of the required items cannot be found. (-43)
Could not open data fork of "". (-43)

someone else must have experienced this ??

Perhaps a permissions thing?

well that's what I'd think. Under Panther on my former G3, I'd be asked to authorize when the burn came to the Library items.

This isn't happening under Tiger. The burn just fails.
