You elected him, now live with him-- Geo P. Bush
#1
At the age of 12, George P. Bush spoke before the 1988 Republican National Convention, which nominated his grandfather. He also spoke at the 1992 convention on the occasion of George H. W. Bush's renomination. He campaigned for his uncle, George W. Bush, during the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns.[2] In his speeches he stated support for his uncle's position in favor of comprehensive immigration reform.

The Texas conservatives rallied around this Bush but now he wants to change the Alamo and TX history, they are hiring lawyers to reverse anything this Repub. Land commissioner can do. I remember his election and how because his name was Bush it was no contest for Texas Republicans. Now they are sorry because he is striking at the very heart of every Texan....The Alamo and trying to rewrite history.

"Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, visiting The Eagle on Texas's Confederate Heroes Day, said he did not believe the state should continue to celebrate the holiday, noting that some consider it a "slap in the face" to celebrate heroes of the confederacy in the same week as Martin Luther King Jr."

Every time a Texan celebrates Custer, or the Confederacy, THEY rewrite history.

G.P. Bush’s bravery here has real limits, also.

The Bush family considers 45 a cancer that needs to be eliminated.

They are taking the long view.

I’m waiting for them to say they are not voting GOP.

Celebrate Custer? News to me

The Alamo seems reasonable to celebrate. Texans fighting to keep Texas.

Huh? The Alamo was a (losing) battle for secession.

That, and many themes around celebrating The Alamo center around the white, American defenders and leave out mention of the Mexican citizens of Texas who were also fighting for secession from Mexico.

I love the look when I describe the Battle of the Alamo:
"Federal forces successfully drove out terrorists and illegal aliens, holed up in the oldest church in town!"
