Backup via iCloud, restore via iCloud -- like you never even got a new phone.
That would not work for anyone who has a fair amount of music, especially those who have carefully ripped their CD collections into lossless formats. If you have very little on your phone, you might not ever have to back up locally. Should be safe because nothing ever goes wrong with cloud storage.
