Why have I never heard of Francis and the Lights?

My wife was watching a movie tonight and I heard a song playing in the background that I liked. I said, hey, Peter Gabriel (love Peter Gabriel), she said yeah sounds like him. Turns out it was Francis and the Lights. We just spent the last hour or so watching some of his videos. Way cool stuff, great songs and really nice videos. Reminds me of the first time I saw David Byrne back in '77.

The movie is Always Be My Maybe. Cute love story and quite funny and well done. The song is toward the end, Can I Have This Dance is the title. We've since downloaded a bunch of his music, I swear I'm listening to Peter Gabriel, but I don't want to take anything away from Francis since he's obviously very talented. His videos are really nice, very simple and low key.
