sweet spot for used unibody MBP 15"?

I suggested the mid-2012 because I'm both poor and cheap. When my 2011 failed (video card), I replaced it with a 2012 2.3GHz hi-res display for under $500. Part of why it was so cheap is because it had a dent in the corner but it's only cosmetic.

I'm sure newer machines are nice and that they're faster, but I've NEVER waited for my 2012 to do anything.
