As of right this minute, site is still up.

I admit to being too much of a wuss to actually download from them, but I kinda liked the fact that they were there. I don't know if this is the effect the RIAA was going for? Or maybe they didn't care.

The sound quality is not as consistent as iTunes. Some tracks have differing volumes and I have run across some low quality tracks - at any bitrate.

But for a few pennies a track, I am not that picky. And for most of the tracks you can pay for much higher quality than iTunes will sell you.

it was pretty handy for getting those tracks that i didn't want to convert from vinyl.

another article mentioned allofmp3 scheduled for a june/july 07 shutdown.
