forum shows up blank
#1
I keep getting a blank page when trying to bring up the forum. Repeated attempts eventually show the page but it's annoying. Is this just me or is it happening to others also?

Usually, that's a problem with a bad cache.

What browser are you using? Tried a different one?

How does this post already have over 1100 views? It's less than an hour old. SEO I suppose. Sorry people finding it, it's probably not useful to you.

When you get a blank page, is forums.macresource.com the URL in the window?

forums.macresource.com is in the url window

I tried with Firefox and Google Chrome with same result. Switched to a virtual machine and it worked in Firefox.

Or it's from him continually reloading it because he's just seeing a blank page.

Over the years I've had many times where the forum seemed hung loading a page as if some sort of network or server issue was occurring, and occasionally needed to reload if it didn't eventually completed by itself.

Another source of delays is when clicking on a thread and there's a post or a signature with a picture and loading that picture from some other server causes some sort of long delay. And sometimes that looks like a blank page while the loading is occurring.

Maybe a proxy from malware messing with your page-loads. Some of them install/configure socks proxies.

Run a MalwareBytes scan.

I ran malwarebytes and I am clean. That's good news but doesn't explain the problem.

Still "smells" like a proxy problem or other network-setting.

Try creating a new Network Location from the Location menu at the top of the Network settings. (Might need to first unlock the pref pane using the lock-icon on the lower-left and will need to click the "Apply" button on the lower-right after making the new location in order to apply the change.)

The new location should have "clean" network settings and pick up everything that it needs via DHCP.
